Torr Scientific recently had an exhibition stand at the Laser World of Photonics trade fair held in Munich in June 2025.
LWOP is a bi-annual event held in 6 of the12 large exhibitions halls of Messe München. This year the other 6 halls were dedicated to Automatica, a trade show dedicated to industrial robots, drive technology, machine vision, assembly and handling systems, control systems, communications, software and cloud computing.
LWOP is dedicated to optoelectronics, integrated photonics, optical information, lasers & laser systems, sensors, biophotonics and medical engineering. The event combines both the trade exhibition and a congress meeting with discussions, presentations and lectures, lasting over 1 week. The exhibition itself lasts for 4 days.
2025 saw a record number of 1,398 exhibitors who met with over 44,000 visitors from 41 different countries. The sheer volume of exhibitors and stands was almost overwhelming. It would take a good couple of days to travel around all of the exhibition halls if you visited every stand.
As a new section to LWOP, one of the halls – A1 – was dedicated to quantum technology, the layout within this hall was unlike most ‘traditional’ exhibitions, instead the area was very open plan with bean bags and comfy chairs. We left it too late to get a stand in the quantum section, so instead we were located in the Hall A3 with the laser people. We met with new customers, new and existing suppliers and exhibitors from other stands.
